"The volcano's gonna blow! Everyone out!"

"Where's the door? Jesus… where's the escape tunnel?"

"I found it! It's over here! Come on! Move, move, MOVE!"

"Give me a headcount! Dy? Swift? BP? Where's BP?!"

*Sound of volcano exploding*

"… Dammit. She didn't get out in time. She didn't make…"

"Oogh…"

"BP?!?!"

"Not so loud please… mind if I just sit down a second?"

"…wow…"

Personality

"If you believe the public has a right to know about my private life and relationships, then by all means… right after you print up the details of yours. And so help me, the next person to have a question that doesn't relate to the wreckage of the eighty foot robot behind me is going for a swim in Independence Port. Are we clear?"

A confident juggernaut in combat, and a defensive cornerstone for teammates. When it comes to a fight, Boilerplate (or BP as she likes to be called) is often the first one in and the last one out. Out of combat, she's much quieter, although she has been known to throw her weight around on rare occasions. She's uncomfortable with the idea of being the top physical trainer for the Tears, but realizes she's also one of the most experienced combatants available. She treats everyone and everything around her very carefully, ever fearful of causing accidental damage.

Likes: Jazz and blues albums, weightlifting (a moderate bench press for her is rated at 85 tons), cartoons, dancing, (a favorite haunt of hers is Pocket-D) and automotive events of all kinds, from "show 'n shine" events to demo derbies.

Dislikes: Anyone but her charging blindly into danger, anyone who uses "because I'm in charge" as a reason for something.

Affiliations

Boilerplate is somewhat uncomfortable with larger groups, and her dislike of authority can lead to friction. This was especially evident in her short time with the Freedom Phalanx. On the one hand, she knows that Phalanx members are held to a higher standard; but on the other hand, she believes that living life to its fullest, embracing it and experiencing all it has to offer is just as important. Ultimately, her personal beliefs outweighed any perceived prestige from being an "elite" hero.

From the minutes of the Freedom Phalanx disciplinary hearing 8-12-06, Statesman presiding.

"The charges of conduct unbecoming of a Phalanx Reservist stem from the numerous, irresponsible displays of power while under the guise of 'specialty' film star 'Michelle Mus…"

"Holy… that was YOU?!"

*sigh* "Synapse, you're not helping."

Affiliations include: Quantum Tears, Riot Gear, Freedom Phalanx Reservist (former)

Personal History

"Age?"

"Thirty-nine."

"You mean twenty-nine."

"No, I mean thirty-nine. Time travel. Dimensional portals. Circle of Thorns."

"So you're twenty-nine and jumped ten years into the future?"

"No, I'm thirty-nine and was de-aged ten years."

"… This is why I hate doing drivers licenses for superheroes."

"You should see what I have to go through for insurance."

Boilerplate's father was the superstrong fire tank known by the codename "Cestus", and her mother was the invulnerable ice maiden "Cyclona". BP inherited the raw physical power of both parents, while her younger sister, codename "Steamhammer" inherited their elemental abilities. Raised in King's Row, BP exercised her strength as she worked her after-school job at the Paragon Steel salvage yard, where she would often use old steam boilers as punching bags. She took the name "Boilerplate" from the identifier badges affixed to these containers, which rated how much pressure the vessels could withstand.

During combat against a group of powerful mages collectively known as The Circle of Thorns, Boilerplate was caught up in a spell designed to grant immortality to the Circle's elite leadership. Her actions disrupted the spell, but she was physically de-aged by ten years. It should also be noted that she has said very little about what happened to her during her time inside the rift.

Abilities

Incredible strength, rapid mobility in all axes due to powers of flight, and unmatched physical stamina and durability.

Weaknesses and Limitations

Impressive, but somewhat inefficient close combat techniques when compared to more specialized teammates. She prefers to match strength to strength instead of targeting more vulnerable points.

Trivia

  • Through unknown means, Boilerplate has been able to generate laser beams from her eyes for a disrupting ranged attack. Their generation and focusing is just one more mystery added to an already impressive list; such as how someone with her parentage can register as baseline human in a DNA profiling, yet have the abilities that she does.
  • BP's twin is the destructive wild woman known as Crusherplate. Despite their seeming night-and-day differences, they share many core beliefs.
  • Rumor links BP to specialty film star "Michelle Muscle"; a character who revels in acts of physical power and property destruction. Debate on the subject continues; believers in the theory point out her unmistakable physique, while naysayers argue that other than the physique, there is nothing to link the two. Whisperings on the internet suggest that at least two more Michelle Muscle films are due to be released, perhaps putting an end to the debate once and for all.
